Goals and Mission for ScholarWorks@UTEP
ScholarWorks@UTEP is the dynamic open access institutional repository committed to elevating scholarly communication from the community at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). The purpose is to collect, organize, preserve, and disseminate output created by authors and scholars affiliated with UTEP. ScholarWorks@UTEP is also the premier publisher of Open Educational Resources (OER) adapted and created at UTEP, upholding the mission of the University to continue to provide access to quality higher education.

Scope of Content
Any scholarly work created by individuals or collaborators affiliated with UTEP can be submitted for publication. Members of the UTEP community can also submit publications created with members not affiliated with UTEP.
Open Educational Resources are materials that have been licensed in a way that they can be shared freely and modified to fit the course learning objectives and the needs of the students. Using OER is one route an instructor can take when selecting zero-cost course materials. Materials can be adopted as-is or can be modified to make them more pertinent and applicable. Creation is also a possibility when more apropos OER are not available. OER materials that are significantly modified and/or created by members of the UTEP community are published and housed in ScholarWorks@UTEP. Identifying information, to include images and audio of individuals, unless given explicit, written permission.
Supported File Types
Full versions of items submitted for publication can be removed upon request. Citations will remain up on the record, however.
How to Submit a Paper
1. Make sure to submit your work in formats that are optimized for public view, as well as formats which allow others to modify the content (in the spirit of OER.) For example, if you are submitting lecture slides, you should submit them as a PDF (for public view) and as a .PPTX file (which others can download and modify.)
2. Write an abstract or brief description of your submission of no more than 250 words. Identify keywords that describe the content of your submission. An abstract and keywords help others locate your paper when searching the internet or the repository, and also help them understand what subjects or concepts your work covers once they find it.
3. Submit your work using the submission form, completing all required fields, and attaching all applicable files when prompted.
4. You will be receive an email notification when your submission is posted to the repository.

Future Versions and Revisions of Your Submitted Work
If you publish this work or a revised version elsewhere in the future, please send the citation of the new version to email@example.com, so users can be informed about the new version when they view your submission in the repository.
If you would like to post a revised version of your paper on the site, please follow the instructions in How to Submit; however, please specify when you submit the paper that it is a revision of a previously submitted work.
