Abstract
A magical realist novel with queer, feminist, and religious themes. It will transport readers to a time of discrimination and hardship when women hid their sexuality and reeducated themselves after years of the inculcation of the church and traditional women's roles. The story takes place in 1935. The thesis will focus on two women's struggles to hide their identities in more ways than one.
