Abstract
Endurance Exercise is a form of exercise that provides many benefits to the human body. Primarily, the cardiac muscle endures many cardiac adaptations in response to Endurance Exercise. But the mechanisms that are involved within these adaptations remains to be fully understood. MAPK or mitogen-activated protein kinase is a well know signaling pathway that promotes many cardiac benefits such as cell proliferation, protein synthesis and cell differentiation. Although this pathway is activated due to its upstream kinase (MKKs), the research presented focuses on the relationship and mechanisms involved in mitogen kinase phosphatase (MKPs) specifically (MKP-5). The research presented hopes to understand the mechanisms involved in MKP-5 and signaling pathways MAPK and PI3K/Akt/mTOR in response to Endurance Exercise in Cardiac Adaptations.
