Abstract
© National Strength and Conditioning Association. © Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. Rhabdomyolysis (rm) is a disorder that may be the result of intensive and voluminous physical training. With the recent emergence of intensive training protocols that typically attract untrained participants, the number of known rm cases has increased and the disorder has received more media attention. The present article aims to review the characteristics of rm, reference relevant case studies from the medical literature, and suggest key points for practitioners to recognize and prevent potential cases of rm.
