Biographical Synopsis of Interviewee
(Community Leader and resident of San Elizario, Texas.) Born in San Elizario on February 17, 1901; went to school in Los Portales, became a school teacher by accident (was a law student but saw that there was a shortage of teachers in San Elizario); studied at San Houston Teacher's College, Sul Ross University, Texas College of Mines (UTEP), UCLA, and obtained bachelor's, master's, and administration certificate from Sul Ross; taught for three years; them became superintendent; has been with the San Elizario School District for 44 years; has been Executive Democratic Chairman for San Elizario for 26 years.
