Biographical Synopsis of Interviewee
John Horace Breen was born in Fort Garland, Colorado in 1888; he moved to New Mexico in 1908. He moved to Columbus and served as Deputy Sheriff there at the time of the Columbus raid.
Summary of Interview
After being out of Columbus, he talks of his return to the town the day after the raid and about the information he gathered about the raid; General Pershing; the growth of Columbus after the raid; World War I; black troops stationed at Columbus; work with Customs Service 1920-1956; ordeal of being taken prisoner by Villa's men.
