Abstract
Suzanne Schmeck Azar, businesswoman, pilot, and elected official, was born in 1946 to a family of German-Irish descent in Bay City, Michigan. As a youngster, she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, which sparked her interest in flying. A pilot for 37 years and flight instructor for 32 years she taught many students to fly including her daughter.
