Abstract

James Jay Kaster V (1933- 2005), a Democrat, was El Paso County’s representative to the Texas Legislature from 1971-1977. Papers consist primarily of Kaster’s office files pertaining to House Bills before the Texas Legislature, the impeachment hearings of Judge O.P. Carrillo, and the Texas Constitutional Convention. The papers also include materials about the Equal Rights Amendment. Years covered are 1971-1977.
