Abstract
James E. Hyslop was born in England on November 7, 1865, and came to Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, around the turn of the century as General Manager for the London-based mining firm of San Francisco del Oro, Ltd. The Hyslop-Beckmann family papers, MS 211, date 1896-1938 and are housed in four boxes (12” x 12” x 16”). These papers reflect James Hyslop’s mining and hacienda activities from about 1900 to 1931. Receipts for El Paso businesses are also included.
