Contrasts in the functions of coordination, subordination, and cosubordination in Mandarin Chinese and English

Abstract

Both English and Mandarin are SVO languages spoken by millions of people in the world. There are similarities and differences in compound and complex sentence constructions in the two languages. In this paper, I will analyze and contrast the functions of clause linkage in both languages.
