Newton-Raphson loadflow analysis

Balram K Jaisingh, University of Texas at El Paso

Abstract

It would not be exaggerating to say that electricity has played a prominent role in the present-day technological development. The ease with which electrical energy can be transmitted in bulk from the point of generation to the place of consumption, industrial, commercial, or residential has outmatched other means and sources of energy, so much so that the generation and consumption of electrical energy is used as a yardstick to measure the industrial and economic development of different parts of a country and different countries over the world. The type and complexity : of problems associated with generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy are as varied as its uses. One such problem of large power systems is loadflow analysis.
