Abstract
Crane's importance to American literature can be realized only by a careful study of the various literary techniques which he, a truly experimental writer, employed. The full impact of his influence on modern literature has not been fully felt as yet; but when he is finally seen in the proper perspective, his role in the history of American literature will assuredly not be a minor one.
