Abstract

Rachel Crothers has attained a substantial place among American dramatists through her keen awareness of the social issues peculiar to America's cultural growth. Her major interest centers in the the modern woman's dilemma: to be or to be a woman with a career. resulting from housewife and mother her decision, says Miss Crothers, rests the fate of the American family, if not the American woman herself.
