The element of criticism in the novels of Manuel Gálvez

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to show that the novels of the contemporary Argentine author Manuel Gálvez serve primarily as vehicles for the author's criticism of Argentine life and that the underlying patriotic motive is national improvement. The superficial attitudes of the Argentine people and the problems arising from them us Gálvez sees them and sets them forth in his novels will be examined.
