Role of Post-translational Modifications in the HIV Cofactor Activity of LEDGF/p75
Abstract
The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a retrovirus identified as the causative agent of one of the most devastating infectious diseases that has emerged in recent history: the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) (45). HIV is comprised of a number of unique aspects that allows it to escape from the host immune system, making it a very successful pathogen.
