Abstract
Nathan Flashner entered Mexico City, with no passport, illegally in 1920 after escaping the Russian Revolution. His wife joined him in early 1921 with a Polish passport. They had three children but did not register their births in Mexico for fear that Nathan's illegal status would be discovered. The family entered the U.S. illegally in 1936, smuggled across the border at El Paso.
