Abstract
Rosa Chaskiel Bloy (Dobre Reisa Blois) is trying to get a non-immigrant visa from the American Consul in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua so she can, in theory, travel to New York to visit her sick mother. The Consul believes she came to Mexico in order to obtain access to the U.S. without having to wait several years to receive a quota immigration visa from Lithuania. Many of the letters are pleas for information about the family; when they came to the U.S., are they citizens, where are they living?
