Born in Sonora, Mexico; came to El Paso when he was nine years old; graduated from El Paso High School in 1930; after graduation worked for the Juarez Mercantile Company as an English-Spanish stenographer, then for a lumber yard until 1937; began with the El Paso National Bank in 1937, where he has remained to the present.
