Abstract

The following professional report is a business plan for Stagecoach Cartage & Distribution, Inc. To begin the analysis I had to develop a mission statement that would clearly define the company's past and future direction. The mission statement was a critical starting point for the overall process and I spent a large amount of time, and received considerable input, into its content. I specifically attempted to focus on ten key areas to encompass the following parameters: (1) Products/Services, (2) Market, (3) Geographic Domain, (4) Technology, (5) Survival Growth and Development, (6) Philosophy, (7) Self Concept, (8) External Image, (9) Concern for People, and (10) Total Quality. ^ Once the mission statement was completed, I was able to go through and take an objective look at the operations of the company. This professional report is broken down into three main areas of emphasis including past history, present operations and strategic focus. It includes a detailed look at our current operations, market and financial management. In addition, I utilized the typical SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) as a way to gauge both the past and the future direction of the company. ^ After completing the portions of the plan that dealt with both past and present operations, I revisited the mission statement in order to chart a direction for future growth, opportunity and improvement. These recommendations are included in the conclusions which serve to synthesize the business plan and mission statement into future strategies. ^
