Conflict in Hispanic and Anglo marriages: A cross-cultural comparison
Many factors are responsible for conflict in marriage. It has been hypothesized that culture may play a role in the processing and management of conflicts in the marital relationship. We studied two groups of people, Hispanics and Anglos, to determine salient issues present in their conflicts, as well as conflict styles the individuals used. A framework was developed to study these issues using the tenets of Individualism-Collectivism and relational dialectics. In this study, it was determined that although there was some difference between the groups, the differences were not statistically significant.
