The Annual COURI Symposium affords the students an opportunity to present their research to faculty, peers and the community of El Paso as a practicum for continued professional development. The Symposium also provides a forum for discussion in the sciences, research and education. The Symposium includes poster and oral presentations by undergraduate students and a panel discussion with guests with expertise in different careers in science to promote a broader awareness of potential career opportunities in academia, public and private sectors. For students to be considered, they must submit an abstract electronically at COURI Abstract submission by March 5, 2011. The abstract will be included in the Book of Abstracts submitted via the UTEP COURI Digital Commons repository. For detailed instructions an important dates on how to submit an abstract please review the attached file or visit the COURI website. Submission is open to all undergraduate researchers pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in one of the College of Science programs and/or students conducting research under the supervision of a College of Science faculty member that have registered with COURI. All eligible undergraduates involved in research are encouraged to apply and those not yet involved in research will discover that attending the Symposium is a great way to learn about the broad range of opportunities available as UTEP students.
