Durante la Revolucion cruzo talegas de oro hacia Estados Unidos de Mexico; fue "bootlegger" y trabajaba para si mismo; estuvo enfermo durante la gripa del 1918, tuvo un restaurante; trabajo en el arroz, como trabajador agricola, etc.' fue discriminado en Bay City, Texas (no lo dejaron entrar a un restaurante); su sobrina esta casada con un americano.
